Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 for Thematic Projects

The Interreg Euro-MED Programme has launched its 8th Call for Thematic Projects (Call 8 – Thematic Projects), aimed at developing and testing concrete solutions that contribute to strengthening the territorial resilience of the Mediterranean area. The call has a total budget of approximately EUR 20 million, with around 10 projects expected to receive funding.

The call covers three Programme Missions: Green Living Areas, Innovative Sustainable Economy, and Natural Heritage, while Sustainable Tourism is not covered by this call.

Projects must contribute to the priorities A Smarter Mediterranean or A Greener Mediterranean and address the relevant specific objectives of the Programme. Each project partnership must include partners from at least five different countries within the Interreg Euro-MED Programme area.

As a general rule, the Programme co-finances 80% of eligible project costs, while project partners are responsible for providing the remaining 20% of co-financing.

The overarching theme of the call is “Advancing Territorial Resilience.” Projects are expected to focus on concrete results and the implementation of activities on the ground, with a clearly defined intervention area and territorial context. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of pilot activities and on the potential for project results to be integrated into policies and practice.

The planned project duration is 24 months.

The application process consists of two stages. Following the evaluation of the written applications, selected consortia will be invited to an oral presentation. The final decision will subsequently be taken by the Monitoring Committee. Written applications must be submitted through the Jems platform.

Key deadlines

Opening of the call for written applications: 1 October 2026 at 13:00

Deadline for submission of project proposals: 13 November 2026 at 13:00

Deadline for submission of mandatory annexes: 27 November 2026
