FOI International Days 2021 has started
The main day of the event is Thursday, May 20, 2021. The program began with an introductory speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, Ph.D, after which Mr. Matija Matoković Policy Officer from the European Commission gave a presentation on "How to be part of the green and digital transition - our opportunities in the EU", which was followed by an interesting panel discussion entitled "Rethinking higher education for new EU programs" moderated by Assoc. Prof. Igor Balaban, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation at FOI and under coordination of the Centre for International Projects.
In the second part of the program the representatives of 4 partner universities presented their studies, international cooperation and projects: Katharina Reh from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology from Germany, Audra Dargyte Burokiene from Mykolas Romeris University from Lithuania, prof. Martina Rašticová from the Mendel University in Brno in the Czech Republic and prof. Bart Rienties from The Open University of the United Kingdom.
After the presentation from partner universities, a breakout section “Research. Innovation. Network - Growing through sharing ideas“ was held. Within this section, five parallel virtual discussions were held on different topics - ICT in Education, Internet of Things, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Data Analytics. These sections were moderated by representatives of laboratories and centres from the FOI, and the participants in the sections were FOI employees, external associates and international scientists and researchers.
In the afternoon, as part of the course Negotiation in an International Environment, two invited lectures were given by foreign lecturers - prof. dr. sc. Victoria Appatova from the University of Cincinnati in the USA and Andreia Carita from the University of Applied Scinces in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The second day of the FOI International Days event will be delivered on Friday, May 21, 2021. The second day program is dedicated primarily to FOI students.
