The project team from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) took part in the final conference of the international Erasmus+ project AI-HED, held in Amsterdam on 6th October 2026. The event brought together project partners and higher education experts to present the project’s key results, exchange experiences, and explore opportunities for the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning.

The final conference of the Erasmus+ project AI-HED – Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Teaching and Learning was held on 6th October 2026 at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) in the Netherlands. Entitled From Improvisation to Effective Integration: AI in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, the conference brought together project partners and higher education experts to present the project results, exchange experiences, and discuss opportunities for integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning.

Five members of the project team from the UNIZG FOI attended the event: Izabela Oletić Tušek, Assoc. Prof. Iva Gregurec, Ph.D., Ph.D. Socio. Larisa Hrustek, Magdalena Kuštelega, M.Econ., and Matija Šajn, M. Inf. Led by Matija Šajn, the FOI team delivered an interactive workshop entitled Generative AI for Educators: Adapting, Creating and Reflecting. The FOI project lead, Assist. Prof. Bogdan Okreša Đurić, Ph.D., also delivered a separate online workshop on the same topic.

The programme also featured an FOI good practice example. Magdalena Kuštelega presented the experience of piloting artificial intelligence tools as part of the Digital Marketing course, highlighting the development of students’ abilities to critically evaluate content generated using AI tools.

The day after the final event, on 7th October 2026, the third transnational project meeting took place. The project partners reviewed the activities carried out and the results achieved, agreed on the next steps for the final phase of the project, and discussed ideas for a new project proposal.

The AI-HED project has produced a range of educational resources and outputs focused on the application of artificial intelligence in higher education. These include the open online course (MOOC) Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, developed by FOI’s team. The course is intended for educators who wish to expand their knowledge and develop the competencies needed to use artificial intelligence responsibly in teaching. It is available on FOI’s online learning platform.
