On Tuesday, the 6th Sep 2022, a kick off meeting has marked the start of the ARC II project. The kick off was organized by the European Commission and it was attended by the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP) and the counterpart Italian agency.
The project worth 400.571,62 € is financed by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme.
The main objective of the project is to raise awareness about the need of GDPR compliance among SMEs and to implement those policies through the development and use of a web tool “Olivia”.
The Faculty of Organization and Information leads the operations in work package no. 2 where the main goal is to develop, test and implement a web tool called Olivia, i.e. general data prOtection reguLatIon VIrtual Assistant. Moreover, the necessary user manuals and practical video materials are going to be developed with the role to facilitate the compliance of SMEs with EU GDPR policies. FOI has a stake of 85.623,54 € total in the project.
FOI’s project team is led by Assoc. Prof. Renata Mekovec, Ph. D. Other team members are Danijel Filipović, M.Inf., Darko Grabar, M.Inf., the head of the Centre for Software Development, Petra Vondra, M.Inf., the head of the International Projects Centre and Tatjana Zrinski, univ. spec. iur.
The duration of the project is 24 months, from the 2nd Sep 2022 till the 1st Sep 2024.
