Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project AI2SEP was held in Poland

On Tuesday and Wednesday, January 23 and 24, 2024, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project AI2SEP was held in Poland at the leading partner University of Silesia, on their campus in the city of Chorzów.

The full name of the project is "Developing Talents in Artificial Intelligence to Solve Disruptive Environmental Problems". The leading partner on the project is the University of Silesia (Faculty of Science and Technology), while the partners on the project are the University of Maribor (Faculty of Organizational Sciences), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (Faculty of Science), Vilnius University (Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics) and the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Organization and Informatics).

The duration of the project is 36 months, the planned completion of the project is until September 30th, 2026. The total budget of the project is EUR 400,000.00, UNIZG FOI budget is EUR 77,037.00.

The main goal of the project is to increase the quality of higher education through the development and pilot implementation in an international consortium of partners with artificial intelligence and machine learning modules that will have a total of 64 ECTS.

Team leader at UNIZG FOI is Prof. Vjeran Strahonja, Ph.D., and team members are associate professor . DIjana Oreški Ph.D, and Karlo Nadoveza, M. Econ.

UNIZG FOI will be the activity leader for the development of the advanced AI/ML module block for IT students. Additionally, they will develop two didactic modules and implement one development project. In addition to the above, FOI will also perform the role of quality manager.
